Tuesday 3rd of January 2023 – End/Start of Year with Granddaughter 29 Dec – 3rd Jan
I always write quick entries of what happens when my granddaughter is with us on my calendar. This one I’m putting here because it got very existential! We didn’t spend Christmas together this year, but we had a few days together afterwards. She’s 7 now.
Thursday: Pick up at 11, food shopping with J then opening/playing with xmas presents from J’s relatives + remote control car from us. Played lots of board games and started making the LED flowers from J&D.
Friday: Finished LED flowers with J in the morning, then to recently opened Battersea Power Station from 11:30 – 17:00. Favourite thing was people playing piano, stopped to watch virtuosos a few times. Shops are all too expensive, high end. Eye eczema is flaring up. Picked up cream to put on eye, in the evening, also behind the leg is looking angry.
Saturday: Home all day, up until 9:30. Complained of pain on the neck skin but there’s nothing there. Played lots of games, made cookies with J.
Sunday: Started the day doing this fitness_kaykay workout with me, but it proved to be too much, she couldn’t keep up with Grandma! In a few years she’ll be able to. Drove remote control car outside, but it was cold, only 20 minutes. Sunday roast cooked by J at 18:00. Games and games. Jenga, Scrabble, Genius.
Monday: local playground & cafe at the Common for lunch. Played Scrabble with me, dived in deeper into the rules and game tactics. Watched “Our Universe” on Netflix, again, before bed (been watching every night). Amazing! It’s easy to understand why Einstein believed in God (Spinoza’s). God = what we can’t explain or understand. What was there before the Big Bang? If energy is repurposed and transferred, where did all the energy to make the universe came from if there was no time/space before??? What triggered it? Where did it come from? Head hurts every time I think about it. When I was in college I wrote an essay about The Big Bang for my Physics module and my head has hurt ever since. It’s incredible to think of ALL the things that have had to happen for us to be here.

Tuesday: Playing Scrabble with J. Skating 14:00-15:00 Streatham ice rink – £32.50 for 3 of us. Back to school tomorrow.
