Had the tests for graduate vacancies at Wilco yesterday. The first two were easy, verbal reasoning (I was given text and had to say whether the statements were true/false/cannot say without more info type of thing) and logical reasoning (I was given a set of rules and had to point out which rules had been broken on some bits of code). I did really badly on the last one: diagrammatic reasoning. I had a hard time working out the rules for the symbols, and out of the 15 I answered, I only cracked one completely. I was exhausted by the end of it. There were another 20 candidates, and after the tests we went to a buffet and talked about the tests (everyone did badly on the last one) and had a chat with some people who worked there.
After that there was a presentation about Wilco, and what they do (the administration side of stock transactions, etc, I didn’t really pay much attention, as my brain was gone by then). After that Val came down to meet me and we had a cigarette, while I told her about the tests (she didn’t have to take the tests when she joined). After that I met Amy for a coffee (she is temping around there: Tower Hill) and then came home. R. was looking after you. It was nice to get out and I will hear whether they want to interview me or not by Saturday. I just have to wait and see. All this has given me a real thirst for work. I can’t wait to work. I am bored being indoors all day (I’m not bored with you but I need more from life). Given how badly I did on the diagrammatic test, I may not get called for the interview anyway.
Last Sunday we got in the car for a drive, not knowing where we were going and we ended up at the Dome. It’s pretty big! So it should be, given the amount of money the government wasted on it.
You were a bit terrible today, as you have a bit of a sniffle. I was supposed to take you to the doctor as your skin is very dry on your legs. I don’t know whether is eczema or just the dry conditions from the heating. It doesn’t seem to be itchy at all so I’m not very concerned but it’s always better to check.
Last Saturday R. bought a video player. He’s been desperate for one, Iād rather get a camcorder and film you anyway, but that’s too expensive. We watched Armageddon (ok), Matrix (superb, I watched it twice), and Shakespeare in love (nice).
